Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Just wondering if there are any foraging groups here in Vancouver or if there are plans to incorporate one into Village Vancouver? I would love to learn about foraging edible herbs and flowers, fruit, mushrooms, etc as well as DIY herbal medicines. If anyone has any information on this in the Vancouver area, it would be much appreciated! Thanks...

Will do Chris. Lets see if we can't get some more people interested. I've got too much on my VV plate right now to take a primary lead roll and will see if I can find someone who's willing to step up.

Hi Chris

We just ran a foraging walk for the Dunbar Salmonberry Days festival. Holgar Laered led the walk around UBC farm. It was an amazing talk. I filled pages of my notebook.

As a result of the talk, a couple of us have decided we'd like to start a foraging group. I've also been out harvesting elderberry flowers and have made a cordial. We've been picking dandelion greens and flowers and will be making coffee and syrup.

What village are you in?

Ann

Thanks Ross,

Not sure I want to start one, more like join one as I know nothing about foraging and just want to learn. Just wanted to put that thought out to the VV community in case anyone with the know how wanted to get one going.

Cheers!

Hey Chris,

Really easy to start one in VV - takes about a minute to set up a page, and we can promo it.

Want to do it?

Cheers,

Ross
