Hi,I recently had a hen die of a mysterious illness. At least I assume that's what she died of. She had reddish brown flat, irregular shaped scabs that spread over her comb and wattles and she seemed tired and didn't stay with the other girls, spent lots of time laying down. Anyone renting and can't have a coop? You might consider contacting the garden sharing groups for people who own a back yard and can't/don't want to maintain it and offer to share it with gardeners. You could try the community gardens, but they can be a bit isolated at night and your hens would be more vulnerable to animal and human predation.
