I have tentatively arranged for Bruno Vernier to host a bokashi composting workshop from 2-3pm, for which he already has participants for.  Bruno is also available for another workshop at a later point during the day to enable Car Free Day…

I'm most interested in community building, local currency, urban homesteading, permaculture, (re)education, and having fun while saving the world!
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
I would be happy to contribute time and energy to projects in Mt Pleasant, but also interested in contributing within other neighborhoods as well.

I would be really interested in caring for backyard chickens. If anyone has the space and desire for some feathered friends and fresh eggs, but not the time to care for them, I'd be happy to help out!

I recently completed a permaculture design certificate course in Seattle with Toby Hemenway and would be happy to share what I have learned so far.

A belated welcome to Village Vancouver and the Main Street Neighbourhood village that includes Mount Pleasant.

The Main Street Neighbourhood village is holding our monthly potluck dinner and presentation tonight (Tuesday, 7 June) at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House on Main Street at 24th Ave (adjacent to the library).  Dinner and a free seed and food plant seedling giveaway start at 6:00 and then an urban gardening presentation and discussion begins at 7 for about an hour.  Come and stay as long as you want, or just drop by at any time.
