There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)

Welcome Ralph, and thank you for living in a city that feeds me.  I only wish we could avoid sending all of our air pollution your way in exchange!

Well, we can and should.  We in Village Vancouver are trying to do our part.

Meanwhile, there are already four Villagers in Abbotsford and you can click on their names here to see more information about them: Barb HindeChris Bodnar, and Jeremy Pitchford.

Our goal is to help every community in every municipality start to organize for Transition, work together, trade resources, do business with each other, and just have fun connecting with the incredible people of the Lower Mainland (and the world).

By working together under the one banner of Transition, we can support each other to preserve our planet for future generations, with each doing what he or she knows best and has the greatest resources to accomplish.

We do have a political agenda, but that is only to make sure every community is enabled, empowered, and encouraged to succeed for the long haul, and not just for short term financial gain.  Village Vancouver is not seeking to be an umbrella for everyone, but just one player--backed someday by tens of thousands of members, or more--with a loud and inclusive voice for responsible and resilient policies, and no greenwashing.

That's a rare beast in the Lower Mainland!
