A sunny south faceing slope between a church and a heat retaining wall. So far the initial bed prep has begun. Lots of sheet mulching and some initial plantings of berry bushes. But this winter we are hoping to get a serious group of forest gardeners together to really examine the planting and get things going for spring.

the site in Mount pleasant is still in the planning stages and is also part of a community garden development. So far initial plans have been approved by site parks dept. Next comes the fundraising of which we just kicked-off last week.

** Our December Little Mountain Neighbourhood House Potluck will be on Tuesday December the 6th from 6 to 8 PM. This month's potluck will be an early winter solstice party, wrapping up a great first year of these monthly potlucks and sharing warm, healthy food.

We will be having a beginner's beekeeping workshop starting at 7PM. Come join us for food and then join two of our neighborhood beekeepers for the basics of beekeeping.

What: Main Street Neighbourhood-Little Mountain Neighbourhood Potluck & Beekeeping Workshop
When: Tuesday, December 6th, 6-8pm: 6pm - potluck, 7pm - workshop
Where: Little Mountain Neighbourhood House (3981 Main St. at 24th)
Why: Winter is a time of togetherness, warm food, and building community. Learn to keep your own bees!
Especially Why: Come for the baclava! ***
