Hi Ann,
Thank you for reaching out to me when I joined Village Vancouver! It turned into a very busy school term so I didn't have a chance to reply. I am very interested in Emergency Preparedness at a neighbourhood level. I have just moved to a new community near Fraser + Broadway and would like to get neighbours together to make emergency kits/make emergency plans. I am part of a student group participating in a CommUnity Resilience design challenge by Engineers for a Sustainable World. I will also be planning some workshops for the Main Street Village beginning in February and would like to incorporate resilience as a theme, encouraging people to connect with each other, plan, share skills etc... I would love to hear more about what you do! I am home for the holidays until Dec 31st but am reachable here via message, or by email. Cheers,
Adele
Hi Ann,
Sure I can help with the website transition. Over the summer my circumstances will be changing a lot and at short notice, it might be best to contact me as and when you need me with smaller specific tasks, and if I'm free at the time I can help.
David
Hi Ann! Thank you for the welcome comments. John
Hi Ann,
Thanks for connecting. I missed the Rec Centre workshop as I wasn't feeling well last Sat. But I'm scheduled to attend the Developing Personal Preparedness Programs - EM931 on October 19 at JIBC.
My plan is incorporating this training into my Village Surrey work, to reach communities and through this, talk a bit about resiliance in general, but we are just starting so it may take some time...
I live in Cloverdale...
Thanks Ann,
I will! Looking forward to meeting you too.
Hi Ann,
Thanks for the welcome and info on the Dunbar Village group. We moved from Ladner and are so pleased with Dunbar/Southlands community and all the trails, horses, birds, bees, and chicken! Our first recon of the neighbourhood involved canoeing down the Fraser from our backyard to Richmond - we loved it.
Looking very forward to meeting you and others in community.
Jenny
I want chickens (had them as a child but embarking on my own coop now)...so will be looking for contacts.
I found VV by searching for info on chickens in Vancouver, I am excited to join this group!
Ann
Thanks for the welcome. I joined the Dunbar Village group. Attened the lecture tonight at Robson Square on Climate Change, very engaging. Not sure if the live streaming is available to watch again but worth a look if it is. I've plans already for Thursday, so will miss the film showing. Look forward to join in for other events. Robin
Hi Ann,
Thanks for the welcome! I'm going to try to make it for the screening, albeit a bit late as my classes at school end at 6:50pm. Hope to see you there!
Cheers,
Wilson
