Chickens Love Coffee Chaff

I sent an email to Maynard of Southland Farms and he suggested I join and speak to all the backyard chicken owners on this site.

I blog for a local coffee roaster out of Delta, and we are advocating the use of spent coffee chaff instead of wood chips for the coops.

I wrote about it on our coffee blog, and thought you may be interested.

We only use shavings in our nesting boxes so we don't go through too much but it would probably be great to use as mulch in the garden too. We have a little room to store it so if you wanted to drop some off next time you're in Vancouver, I can try to distribute it to the community.
