Silvi replied to Randy Chatterjee's discussion Transit and Translink: How should public transit be funded? in the group VV Transportation Group
"Here's how I augment the cost of my transit use these days: I sign up for one class at Langara, which gets me a U-pass (that's worth 4 months of unlimited rides in all 3 zones). Check out tuition prices for Vancouver residents:…"

Silvi replied to Ross Moster's discussion Straw deliveries to your neighbourhood? in the group VV Neighbourhood Food Network
"Hi Ross, Yes, it does. I was just thinking that I wouldn't want a massive amount of straw kicking around for a long time waiting to be picked up, you know? So, I have a potential space for a delivery to be held. There's a concrete pad…"

Hi, Silvi, I've heard Ross mention the "deal" of a U-pass and as I'm taking a course at Emily Carr, I checked that out - no go. At Langara, I think you have to be a credit course and it looks like that would be about $300, so... I'm not sure this is a way I'd want to get a U-pass. Unless I've misunderstood, I could get a transit pass for about the same cost or less, wouldn't i?

HI again Silvi! welcome also to the beekeeping group. We held a get-together in May for beekeepers and it was great to share our experiences and exchange ideas and advice I'm hoping we can organize another gathering in August or Sept) . Also I'm planning to hold a get- together in July with people who are thinking of becoming beekeepers as well. I hope to see you at future beekeeping gatherings!

Housing

A human right? After food, most feel shelter is the most important necessity. A place of shelter is also the start of a community. This category is for all things relating to shelter, housing, affordable housing, homes, renewable heating systems, green buildings, heritage, and our built environment in general.
