Moving hives

Hello, I need to move my hive to a new location (a little further than 2 miles). If anyone has tips or experience moving hives I'd love your advice on how to make the trip smooth. It's not a long distance, but packing these little fellows up is a bit daunting. Thanks, ShaunaSee More

Hi Shauna; Lots of locally produced nucs come at the beginning of June. This is just in time for the major blackberry honey flow June 1st. I suggest feeding pollen patties and even sugar syrup if necessary. It's a bit of a race to get the hive big enough in time to survive winter. Last year I received a couple nucs July 2nd, after the main nectar flow was over. This year they're among my strongest hives. That's what a little tender care can accomplish. Brian
