About Heather

Hi,I'm a very new beekeeper. I took a 2 day course on bees in May, and on June 10th installed the bees. So far I'm enjoying myself very much with them and am looking forward to learning more about them. I hope to learn more about beekeeping and gardening in Vancouver, as well as emergency preparedness. Thanks,HeatherSee More

Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...

There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)

Hi Heather
Welcome to VV. Why don't you join the Dunbar Village group? That way you can keep in touch with what is going on in our neighbourhood.
Are you interested in getting actively involved? We had a really good steering group but 4 of the core members moved away and we've been too quiet lately.
I'm really involved in the Dunbar Earthquake and Emergency Preparedness group, which I'd be happy to talk with you about. But it has taken away from general organizing and I'd be really happy to have some new organizing energy!
Anyway, look forward to meeting up some time soon.
Cheers.
Ann
