The Main Street Neighbourhood village is holding our monthly potluck dinner and presentation tonight (Tuesday, 7 June) at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House on Main Street at 24th Ave (adjacent to the library). Dinner and a free seed and food plant seedling giveaway start at 6:00 and then an urban gardening presentation and discussion begins at 7 for about an hour. Come and stay as long as you want, or just drop by at any time.
See the full event description here.

Geoff,
The seed exchange/sharing event will likely be the in the afternoon of the 19th (Saturday), or evening of the 21st (Monday) or 22nd (Tuesday). We are still trying to nail down a venue.
Finding places to meet is our perennial challenge. Community centres charge hundreds of dollars to book a space, and we are trying to increase our connections to churches and other public spaces. We'll know in a few days, and are likely to repeat the event in early April. We have seeds-aplenty to share, and planting season is approaching.
Randy
Geoffrey,
Welcome to the Main Street Neighbourhood. We've gots lots coming up that should interest you.
We are in the midst of a multi-session visioning of what we want our local neighbourhood(s) to look like, what assets and connections we need, and how to get there. We have invited Portland's City Repair founder Mark Lakeman to lead us at the end of this month in a guerilla planning exercise to reconfigure our built environment through art.
We are also going to host a massive seed sharing session this month in case you are interested in growing food inside or out this spring and summer. We will have free pots and maybe soil to share as well. We are going to grow more food in Vancouver this summer than ever before, and share it widely.
Join us in anything and everything, and consider organizing something of your own. Either tell us about it in advance, or just post it here on the site and invite the world!
No pressure.
Just make it happen.
Randy
