Profile Information

In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Downtown
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
More access to locally grown food. Healthy food choices available to people on fixed incomes. Asset sharing and the use of local currency. Develop a network of people with skills to trade/share/teach. As well, maybe a car pooling network. Those with vehicles driving others, sharing rides for a small fee or service exchange.
Creative community-building....focusing on the arts, theatre, dance, music etc.!
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
I'd like to get involved in the group where I currently live, Westend Vancouver.
I have some knowledge of community building, group facilitation, arts and culture...
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
I'd like to see projects that bring people from diverse groups together. For example, inter-generational activities in the Westend where people of all ages...and different cultures, can come together and celebrate community.
I'd like to encourage people who don't feel confident in their English language skills to feel comfortable participating and sharing ideas on sustainability and resiliency.
Potlucks, sharing ideas about healthy, inexpensive food choices is a common denominator for this over priced, diverse area of the city.
