Clare Cullen commented on Ann Pacey's group Dunbar Transition Village
"I see this group has not had a lot of activity but I hope I will hear back from someone! I am looking for a soap-making workshop in the Dunbar/ Point Grey area. Do you know of any? I am interested in other VV activities in this neighbourhood, too,…"

"Hi, Clare - Hope you'll come Thursday. Your name sounds familiar - do we know each other? If you're coming on Thurs and want to come early for a potluck dinner let me know. A few villagers are coming early. [email protected]"

Profile Information

In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Kitsilano, West Point Grey
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
growing food, organic food, the arts,community-building, waste reduction, community-building, new/ gift economy...lots of stuff.
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
bookkeeping, small-business knowledge, gardening, renewable energy, waste reduction, bio-diesel, raising chickens...
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
1) I would like to see an end to single-use plastic bags in Vancouver... not totally a Transition thing but a pet-peeve.
2) Also would like to see the City improve/ highlight the collection of recyclables -- offer large blue bin on wheels, same as the green bins, and provide recycling for soft-plastics and styrofoam.
3) Would love to see an increased use of locally-made bio-diesel

Don't feel like answering all the questions now? No worries, just tell us briefly why you're interested in joining at this time, and you can come back and update your profile later.
Recently moved back to Vancouver after 6 years on Salt Spring Island. Was connected to Transition there so looking to hook in to the Vancouver contingent. Own an eco-store here called Gecko Green Living and would like to build community around that. Thanks!
