"Philip, these are a great idea. So many urbanites live in apartments, many of which do not even have a balcony. This is an option for those folks, as well as for others. I would like to know more about the boxes. Did you fabricate this, or can one…"

In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?

Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
urban agriculture, frugal living, vegan diet, community gardening
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
I'm still learning about this.
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
I hope to learn more from all of you.

Hi Bonnie
Welcome to the emergency prep group. Let me know what your interests are and we'll see where we can go from there.
I just gave a talk at the Main St Village potluck about getting your neighbourhood prepared. There was a lot of enthusiasm and I think several people have been inspired to run a session of Map Your Neighbourhood in their block.
Would that be something you'd be interested in?
Look forward to meeting you.
Ann

Hi Bonnie,

Welcome to VV. I am really glad to see a few more people from our area on this site. It would be nice to one day have enough members to start a "village" as other areas have successfully done. I'd love to have potlucks, share some stories/help/ideas/thoughts, and meet like-minded people. Hope to meet you at an event someday.

Linda
