Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

I'm curious if anyone in this group is keeping quails for eggs. What's your experience been, would you recommend them as an alternative to chickens? How big of a space do you have for how many birds? I've been reading that they are very good egg producers, take up less space and are quieter and cleaner than chickens, but it would be great to hear about someones experience first-hand.

We've been keeping chickens for almost five years but it might be fun to try something new.

Thanks for any info!

Hi Caitlin,

I think they aren't allowed in the city of Vancouver-the Vancouver animal control bylaw says no "poultry" except hens.
