Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Hi all,

Hope you and your laying (or lazy) ladies are all having a great winter!

My family and I are flying the coop to warmer climes for 10 days Feb. 7th - 17th, and I'm looking for someone in the neighbourhood (2nd x Templeton) who would be able to come by every couple days to collect eggs, top-up food & water, and scoop poop a few times.  On offer are macadamia nuts, or wine or beer, or home-canned fruit/pickles or other negotiated deal :-)

Let me know if anyone is available to help out!  I'd be happy to return the favour sometime, too.  That's what neighbours are for, right?  :-)

Cheers,

-Kristi

Hey Kristi,

We have had some neighbourhood kids (with mama's help) caring for our chickens when travelling.  The LOVE it!  When we came home in December there were 8 kids in the backyard chasing the chickens and laughing.  They did a good job and were excited to look for eggs everyday.  So that's an idea....we paid them $40 dollars as well, for 10 days.

If you don't end up with anyone, let me know.  Kir and I can walk over a few times and check on them.  Refill water and food, etc.

Hopefully see you on Wedneday!
