Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Hello, my name is Heidi Shuster from Greendale Heritage Farm in Chilliwack. We breed and raise rare purebred heritage breed poultry. We mainly sell hatching eggs and day old chicks. I understand that city people can now have 4 hens in their backyard, how wonderful! I have been getting many requests for hens or pullets from city people and people on your forum. I understand that you do not want roosters so I have come up with a plan for you.
I want you to understand that there is a huge difference in a hatchery bird, and birds that come from a breeder. Hatchery birds are inferior in quality and size, they lay very well for a year or two, they basically stop laying and generally die a short time after. Heritage breed birds, from a breeder like me, are close to APA standard of perfection, they are beautiful, vigorous and healthy. They lay very well for the first two years and continue to lay most of their lives though not as well as the first two years. They can live up to 12 years old. I hope with this in mind, you can see why true heritage breed poultry are far more valuable. You are buying a quality chicken from someone who has spent the time and money to research, and raise them right. Our gorgeous farm is set on a picturesque five acres in the Greendale part of Chilliwack. The farm is specifically set up for spoiled chickens to be happy and healthy. A great deal of effort is put into the raising and breeding of our chickens.
My offer to quality loving individuals who are interested in, and wanting chickens in the city is to let me raise quality pullets for you. Our fresh, fertile eggs will be hatched either with our top of the line incubator, or the natural way, whenever possible, with their mother's within the flock. We will guarantee that you are purchasing a pullet (hen) and not a rooster. We will raise them up to the age that they can be sexed, then they will be available for pickup. The process would take approximately 12 to 17 weeks after they are hatched.
We would provide you with pullets from these breeds:
Black Copper Marans (dark brown egg layer)
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte
Blue Orpington
Buff Orpington
Black Orpington
Lavender Orpington
Coronation Sussex
Silver Sussex

We would ensure that you receive a healthy, quality, heritage breed pullet for $45.00. We would require a 50% deposit on your order. If you are interested or have any questions please email me at [email protected] or visit my website, www.greendaleheritagefarm.com
