Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Hi all,
I lost my two cuddly hens in 2014. Rosie would approach and peck you until you picked her up and cuddled! I could also carry her around and weed the garden with her in my arms / on my shoulder. She was known around town as the "zen chicken". My other cuddler Cookie (a real angel) passed a few months later, of a broken heart from her best friend being gone I think.

I still have two hens; one will tolerate being held but doesn't often enjoy it.

So, I am looking for a lap chicken. Age doesn't matter.

I have found that raising from chicks doesn't necesarily equate to a cuddly bird. They seem to hit puberty and want nothing to do with you any more. My two cuddly birds (Rosie and Cookie) I adopted separately when they were each about a year old.

I actually saw someone post a cuddle chicken on CL a while back, but the posting is gone. I figured I'd come here first before delving into that oh-so-scary land of Craigslist.

Any ideas, let me know. Thanks.
