Hi Laura Lee & Ross:  Peter and I enjoyed the company and the potluck.  It was good to meet everyone and we started on the "library".  

Hi Bina:  I am a member of the Cedar Cottage seedsaving collective.  Check out our wordpress website. It would be great if we could make use of the local fruit trees for our canning as well.

Hi Laura and Ross, 

Surita and I had a lovely evening at the potluck today. I look forward to some community canning and canning workshops over the summer and fall...actually can't wait :). It was nice meeting everyone who attended.

Ross I hope to connect with you maybe late Feb/Mar to get some ideas for container gardening and seeds library. Also it would be great to have some kind of urban neighbourhood fruit harvest going...not sure of the best way to get projects of this kind off the ground but i would be happy to map neighbourhood fruit trees or volunteer time in suitable ways. It is shame to let all those figs and pears and other fruits go to waste...if not for personal use maybe for use in community where fresh food is scarce.
