*Kits Village Dinner Group #1 January Gathering: Mexican, with a hint of Robbie Burns

We currently have two dinner groups. Our 1st group started in 2012, and our 2nd group started last Spring.

Typically, one or two households take turns creating a meal for everyone else in the group once a month. (Folks with smaller places can team up with folks with larger places or hold their dinner during warmer months in a park or yard.)

Occasionally, we vary it with a brunch or combine it with another activity, like going to the Celebration of Light in July. Sometimes hosts do themed meals -- for example, this months meal is "Mexican, with a nod to Robbie Burns (um, bring a favourite Robbie Burns poem to read (in Spanish??), wear a sombrero with your tartan duds...", next month is a Mardi Gras themed meal, October may be Diwali.

We also encourage folks in the dinner groups to be active elsewhere in Kits Village and the neighbourhood, and many dinner group members apply for Neighbourhood Small Grants to carry out activities and projects.
