A whirlwind tour of beekeeping essentials! Where to place your bees, what equipment to start with, how to find bees, bylaw requirements, resources, and a discussion of what is sustainable bee management. The challenges and rewards of beekeeping will be covered. Bring your questions and your enthusiasm as we delve into the wonderful world of the honeybee.
Offered as part of the Village Vancouver Transition School as part of Langara College's Sustainable Communities Summer School.
Instructor: Brian Campbell
Brian Campbell is a Certified Bee Master managing Blessed Bee Farm, a small scale commercial urban apiary, and The Bee School. Brian is the West Coast Seeds Bee and Sustainable Gardening reference person. He teaches beekeeping across BC including at the Richmond Farm School, and with the Environmental Youth Alliance.
