The Heart and Soul Group of Village Vancouver invites you to join us for regular Affinity Group Circles at the home of Philip Be’er from 7:15 to 8:15 on Tuesday Evenings.
The purpose of the Affinity Group Process is to give and to receive unconditional love, acceptance and support. To create a safe, loving, non-judgmental space in which we can open our hearts and move through our fears. It is a venue where we can “practise community”.
Please join us at this free weekly circle.
Philip Be’er
For me, the Affinity Circle is a gateway to self awareness, self acceptance and self expression. It provides an opportunity for us to develop skills that improve our ability to listen without reacting, to hold space for another person and to accept people for who they are. The Affinity Group process was developed by Paul Ferrini http://www.paulferrini.com who is an inspiring teacher, writer, poet and counsellor. Affinity Circles are Spiritual Intervals that are not associated with any particular religion (Though Paul Ferrini, a student of many spiritual paths, has written extensively and eloquently about his great teachers, Lao Tzu and Jesus.) Participating in an Affinity Circle is often a profound experience and at the end of the hour, I’ll often hear from participants how meaningful this experience has been for them.
The Affinity Circle guidelines can be found at http://www.paulferrini.com/html/body_affinity_group_guidelines.html and describe how the conditions for safety and openness are created. Circles are strengthened by regular participation and we encourage one another to attend as often as possible while accepting that our urban lifestyle often challenges this intention.
Village Vancouver supports Heart and Soul activities that foster community.
