You'll gain a wealth of practical information including what varieties do best in the lower mainland, starting tomatoes from seed, best seed sources and lots more. We will ensure all your tomato issues are resolved and also plan time for an open Q & A for any other food growing questions.

Welcome. We've got some upcoming activities, including starting a regular movie night, reskilling workshops (canning, bike repair and others) and potlucks.
Through our local economy group, we're also working on getting a Dunbar dollar launched.
what kinds of things are you interested in?
Ann
What kinds
We've just set up our Dunbar Neighbourhood Transition group (see group pull down, second page), and look forward to getting a really dynamic group rolling. Will be organizing a get together soon. Hope you join.
Kind regards. Ann
Hoping to finalize a date for the Food working group meeting soon, so please add your name to the doodle as soon as you're able. http://doodle.com/papgm68fz3vq4sfr. As much a collaborative as it is a working group, we welcome, encourage, and can accommodate and nurture a wide variety of interests around food.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanx,
Ross
As you can see, we are just beginning to build this on-line community for Village Vancouver, and organize our extensive activities more openly and collaboratively through this site. Please feel free to contribute to a discussion, attend or even enter a new event, join a working group, or find a Village.
Dunbar currently has three other members, Ann, Mairi, and Linda, the core of a new village. When NOWBC gets onto a firmer plateau of sustainability, I am sure we can get Jo to pitch in as well.
Right now we are focussing on seed and edible plant sharing in each neighbourhood village now in development, and we will be planning another huge NOWBC-like Potluck at Heritage Hall using the human resources of the now 20-strong Main Street Neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, check out the discussions and the working groups to see where you could add your 2 cents. We need to get some balls rolling, and are just beginning to get a critical mass with now almost 140 people on this site.
Oh, and most importantly, I will need some house painting later this spring. Lots of it!
