Housemates-Partners to Share a Rural Lifestyle

Hello we're Karen and Michael,

About Us: We are a mature couple who want to enjoy a rural lifestyle without cutting ourselves off completely from our working and social relationships in Vancouver. Karen is a conscious parenting guide and music educator who enjoys playing her piano at home. She's in her late forties and is now focused on building her conscious parenting practice. Michael is a wholistic educator whose core work is helping himself and others live in balance and harmony. He is in his sixties and along with doing his right work as an educator he has a passion for growing organic veggies year-round using greenhouses and raised beds.

Our Need: After two years of looking at run down rental properties priced around $1200 /month (our current budget), we're choosing to pool our resources with others and find a good house and some productive acres within an hour's drive of Vancouver. We've recently seen ads for nice houses with 3-5 bedrooms on productive acreages priced in the $1800.00 - $ 2500.00 range. We are looking to partner with another individual or couple with a similar need for a healthy rural lifestyle to make this happen. Along with the financial benefits of pooling resources, we feel the importance of being in community as we make the shift from a city experience to a rural one. Here's what we have in mind:

The Housemate(s)

Option 1 you are a single person, female or male, emotionally and financially stable, who enjoys the connection with other people. You live a relatively quiet lifestyle and have no need for alcohol, drugs, or heavy partying to feel good or be happy. You would welcome the chance to help create and maintain a serious organic garden, might enjoy helping to build and work in a small greenhouse, and are seeking to create a good balance between social time with us and alone time in your own space. You would of course share the organic veggies we grow together. To make this work you would need to be able to contribute approx. $ 750.00 to the common house budget each month. (includes utilities).

Option 2 you are a couple with the same qualities as above. It would be nice if at least one of you was interested in organic gardening and greenhouse work. As a couple you'd have your own space within the home. To make this work you would need to be able to contribute approx. $ 1,200.00 to the house budget each month (includes utilities).
