Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities
I subscribe to an excellent website called Peak Prosperity hosted by Chris Martenson, author of Crash Course (http://www.peakprosperity.com/crashcourse).
This article posted yesterday is called Returning to the Real is a very articulate, clear and compelling statement about our current decline into virtual experiences and the dire need to acknowledge that we, as humans, don't realize that this is leading us to destroy our planet. I encourage you to read and discuss with those you love.

James Howard Kunstler is one of my favourite authors. He's the author of the Long Emergency, one of the best books on peak oil and our dependence on technology.
