Profile Information

In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant, Strathcona, UBC-Endowment
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
I am interested in pretty much everything mentioned above! I just started learning about permaculture- and I am hoping to continue learning more. I am interested in natural building, self sufficiency, growing food, making foods from scratch- making house products from scratch, gaining knowledge through doing, community building, the arts, and of course having fun while saving the world
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
I am interested in the neighborhoods that i checked off above- I haven't had a chance to research the projects- but at this point I am mainly looking for a way to start getting involved with village vancouver- so quite open. I am happy to share any skills or knowledge- most of the skills i have in this area- are very fresh- I learnt in the last month and I am honing my skill (trial and error)- these include- brewing kambucha, sourdough breadmaking (using wild yeast/making the bread starter), cheese making, yogurt, cream cheese- panner and camembert, soap making, adobe brick making, 18 day compost, potting mix, seed saving, non violent communication, and i recently took a yoga teacher training cours- im looking for ways to offer some casual courses (maybe free- or by donation),
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
I'll have to think about this!
