- Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
- I am interested in urban food production and composting and I'm looking for ways for my project to have more community involvement.
- There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
- I would like to get involved with urban farming groups and anybody interested in getting involved with a new way to grow food in the city. I bring knowledge of composting, gardening and super nerdy science information collected from a chemical engineering degree and a lifetime of wonder.
- What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
- I want to see improvement in the entire urban food system. So much of our food can be grown in the city. Food scraps and organic matter doesn't need to be trucked out of the community like trash. Recycle it at your local micro-farm. We compost it to recover the nutrients and grow greens, fish and mushrooms.
The dream is called OSCAR (a green, garbage-eating monster in a a can.) Help us make it a reality in Vancouver. Contact me if you want to get involved!

- Bob lives in Vancouver. It's 2013. Bob is hungry and goes outside and walks to the nearest micro-farm, it's down the block. "Hi Bob." says Joe the farmer. Bob drops off a load of food scraps. "Thanks Bob." Bob buys greens, freshly caught fish and mushrooms."Thank you, Joe" and shakes his hand. He walks home thinking back on how backwards the food system used to be. He chuckles when he gets home. He left the TV on. Still on commercial break.
