- Preserving seed diversity, potluck, having fun while saving the world and community building.
- There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
- Currently I'm involved with the Richmond Auto Mall Rabbit Group. And through my business (women's only zumba) I'm involved with Walk for ALS, Rely for Life, etc.
Resources wise, I know a group of amazing Zumba and fitness instructors that are very involved with the community and are willing to lead classes at various events around town.
- What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
- Re-optimize the traffic lights. My background is in civil engineering, so my believes are the less energy we use and the less construction we do, the less foot print we leave behind and the more sustainable we are on earth. Something as simple as making driving more smooth by recalculating all the traffic lights around town and syncing them up using better math, will not only reduce CO2 emission, but reduce the amount of road expansion we need.
