Hi Mitch,
There's a Kits Village potluck & discussion about what we want to do in 2012, this Sunday. Join us?
Cheers,
Ross
Welcome, Mitch.
We are trying to reach out widely to connect with people of all different ages and experiences, especially those who have lived in other parts of the world or just in very different ways than our high-carbon-footprint Canadian way.
We are trying to model a better way both of acting and of relating. We set standards for our lifestyles, and then have fun talking to others about what we are doing and why.
August is a bit of a slow time for us, but we still have several events every week across the city. Kits Village--the local neighbourhood sub-group of Village Vancouver--is very active, including recently planting a large common food garden in Kits Point and holding potlucks or outings to restaurants at least every few weeks. Food-related skills workshops, especially for food gardening and preservation, are very common.
So check out our events page often, and join the Kits Village group (by clicking this link and then the Join button on that page) to learn what people in your neighbourhood are doing.
We are working on trying to send out a monthly newsletter to remind people what's up, and we hope that's coming in the fall. Meanwhile, we won't be filling your email inbox with too much mail, and many like it that way.
