Hi Marie,
Welcome to the Transitions movement. I noticed you are a neighbor as I live in Surrey. Unfortunately there are no villages in our neighborhoods yet, but I am trying to establish one here in Surrey. So I thought I might be of some help in offering you some suggestions including participating in some of VillageSurrey's events. After over 2 months I have managed to gather a fair number of potential interested people in the area although the morale, consciousness, and motivation is unfortunately not too strong. But our area has a lot of potential due to the still remaining farmland and wildlife areas. And the future generation (e.g., the ones at school that you directly deal with) can not afford to be left ignorant of the crucial issues of sustainability.
If you are interested in becoming more active in the area and seeing some projects take off locally I suggest that you register at the VillageSurrey page by going above and clicking on the Village tab. Then look towards the bottom and click on Village Surrey. This way you will have a better chance of being informed in case of any events in the Surrey. Also please feel free to contact me for information and / or assistance at 778-578-6300. Kind Regards, Behrouz
