Yes
There is a station up ahead,
a dawning presence
as I travel this train of life,
a station where I'll bid you farewell
and know no more. Before we arrive,
there is much
to do to try to calm
a sea of turbulence, of uncertainty,
of confused essences
you and my children will encounter
beyond that station.

Just a little something
I strain to contribute
like the flap of that butterfly's wing,
perhaps,
to avoid what looms leering.

Yet, there is joy in the doing
and your company.

Hi, I coordinate the monthly potlucks for the Kitsilano Village. We're having one next Sunday night. If you're interested join the Kitsilano Village to get more info or send me a note. Mary

Hi, Lawrence - how are the worms doing? I've been moving the compost around and found a bunch at the bottom if you need more. Just let me know. I might see you today at Kits House - unless it rains (I've still got a cold and don't want to risk getting sicker.)

Those stars that stare their stare at me;
Are those the staring stars I see?
Or only lights.. not meant for me?

Not my prose, but your poem reminded me of these lines from J.B..

Your photos are also nicely juxtaposed: a child playing in water, a boat playing on land. I think the child is happier.

I always learn from reading your stories and vignettes relating to Palestine and all the dysfunctional people in that land of the torturers and the tortured. Please keep that up. Maybe someday social justice there will stop being labelled as racist.

Village Vancouver is a great respite from the horribly polluted politics of our city, province, and country. I wish I could turn my back on all of it, but can't, and so I hope the Transition Movement will wash all such zero-sum conflict away.

Hi Lawrence,

Welcome to Village Vancouver and Kits Village!

It turns out that there were two free worm composters being offered by VVers near the Drive -- hope yours worked out.
