Not my prose, but your poem reminded me of these lines from J.B..
Your photos are also nicely juxtaposed: a child playing in water, a boat playing on land. I think the child is happier.
I always learn from reading your stories and vignettes relating to Palestine and all the dysfunctional people in that land of the torturers and the tortured. Please keep that up. Maybe someday social justice there will stop being labelled as racist.
Village Vancouver is a great respite from the horribly polluted politics of our city, province, and country. I wish I could turn my back on all of it, but can't, and so I hope the Transition Movement will wash all such zero-sum conflict away.
