PS - By the way, the last question in your signup is your agreement to "abide by the Site Guidelines." No flaming people (who don't deserve it), be respectful, play nice, and all that. You answered "no", and well, that just ain't good enough. Please change your answer on your profile page...and of course mean it. Our Site Guidelines are here and are pretty basic motherhood and apply pie stuff.
Big Brother
Kevin,
Welcome to a place a very long way from Mustang, in every meaning of the word. Good to have you here.
We haven't got a core group yet in Marpole to organize regular meetings down there, or create any ongoing projects, but if you end up nearer Main Street, Village Vancouver will soon have 3,000 square feet of permaculture garden space to grow food, medicines, and other beneficials. We fought for and have secured a piece of the new Riley Park. See Map 8 of this large download linked here, and look for the area called #19 "Demonstration Gardens".
The Village is trying to organize collective, collaborative food gardens with more order and productivity than sole-plot community gardens. This is almost along the model of SoleFood Farm on Hastings and along Pacific Blvd, but we are committed to permaculture design principles, especially planting in the ground and not on tarmac.
Being a therapist is the ultimate Transition occupation, super green in our book, and super needed.
And EVERYONE in Vancouver needs some serious therapy!
Come on out to any event you see on this site, or give us a holler anytime at info@villagevancouver.ca or me directly at randy@villagevancouver.ca.
