Profile Information

In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Arbutus Ridge-Kerrisdale-Shaughnessy
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
I am interested in permaculture, bio-diversity -organic gardening from transplants into new upraised non-stained cedar boxes - needing to be built, any ideas? - in a small yard. Growing tomatoes - vertically. Marine manure for garden. Small hothouse along side of house. Growing sprouts indoors, as well. Herb garden along window sills and elsewhere. Preserving heirloom seeds, saving Monarchs with Milkweed, starting up my own Supernatural Sanctuary on land to be bequeathed with Crowd Fundraising - to be implemented, yet. Trade, Contra. Co-creation of a conscious community. Family working together. Raw, vegan potlucks. Organizing raw events. Some of my priorities and passions. Oh and writing articles on the raw, vegan superfoods lifestyle - moi!
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
I am a certified living foods chef and live this loving lifestyle - for over 15 years. Raising my son as sanest same . he is now 20 and stands tall and filled with integrity at 6ft 4. I am interested in teaching Children at an early age . .how to choose wisely and how to help Mom's or caregivers to create healthy choices. I am a fit 56 year young positive role model who has written for a few mags and newspapers and would love to do more . in this creative empowering arena.
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
Something to do with backyard farming.
I agree to read and abide by the Site Guidelines under the About tab on the navigation bar, remaining respectful in all communications on this web site.

Don't feel like answering all the questions now? No worries, just tell us briefly why you're interested in joining at this time, and you can come back and update your profile later.
I am interested in sharing a community and attracting like-minded magical thinkers, Butterflies and near to extinct Bees .. into my wonderful world . and backyard.

Blissful Blessings,

Raw, Vegan Kat in Van
