- zero-waste, Permaculture, building soil health, building awareness, contemplating the universe and our brilliant existence, environmental accounting, relocalizing our economy, ecological economics, food production, community gardens and small space gardening, learning new and useful skills, diversifying, potlucks, composting; having a "community free store"; co-op living, eco-village living IN the city, greening everything, guerilla gardening, holistic nutrition, grey water systems, biomimicry, changing out stories - re-storying the universe "we can be just as much positive, as we are negative" :) as Bill Mollison said.
- There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)

In my mind, it all comes down to entries on a balance sheet, a real balance sheet, one that accounts for not just all of our natural resources but in fact the entire entropy deficit (embodied energy) upon which human life depends.
I learned in B-school that you can only manage what you measure.
It is time to start measuring what is important.
Good to see you there tonight. We need more hard-core measurers and managers to start changing how we measure and manage.
