Profile Information

In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Downtown East Side, Dunbar
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
urban agriculture, urban homesteading, community building

i live in the downtown east area...an area we all know needs work of all kinds...and i have many, many sensible plans that we can implement straight away...but it needs several of us to get together to do it...we need to sit down and discuss things...im often at the Central Library down by Robson...great place to meet and talk....or i can be found at countless coffee places all over the DTE...name your place and i'll be there...oh, and i'll pay for the coffee, too...!
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
teaching healthy eating, teaching benefits of herbs and spices and how to grow them, getting the right kind of exercise, nurturing hobbies, etc

ive been practicing and teaching a unique form of yoga for over 20 years...a form not seen, or taught outside of india...i'd like to teach people in vancouver to learn it and live healthier, happier lives

i like to think i can write a little....by trade im a certified (no, not certified insane!) quality assurance auditor and have been writing technical articles regarding manufacturing and quality issues, as well as freelance stuff regarding health, food, lifestyle, photography, film noir, books..the list goes on....so if i can help VillageVancouver and everyone involved with some writing, nothing will make me happier!

what else do i like? reading (lots!), using/collecting/writing about film cameras, walking, hiking, postulating (!), waking up and thanking whoever is "up there" for letting me live in the next best, nay, THE best place in the world..Vancouver!
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
can be discussed...its a long story....and a long, long list!
a lot of changes are needed, and most of those can only come about if we all band together...through sheer force of numbers we can change things...peacefully!
