- Permaculture, urban agriculture, the arts, potlucks, urban greening, living walls, green graffiti, seed saving and exchanging, preserving seed diversity, food security and organic small-scale agriculture, laughing and building community, sharing the work load and the rewards
- There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
- Permaculture, seed saving, potluckin', community-building. I bring knowledge in Permaculture design, organic gardening, seed saving, and the "big picture" concepts around food security (or lack-there-of). I am a former professional baker, and current DIY food enthusiast with experience in canning, preserving, cooking, baking, etc, and I love to share :)
- What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
- More green-space, more bike friendly drivers, more urban agriculture, more green roofs, better access to community, more rain water harvesting and grey water initiatives (why are we literally flushing our fresh water down the drains?)...

Welcome, Georgia!
We'll take you into any of our neighbourhood villages, and invite you to be a PERMAnent part of our CULTURE. There is lots to do, and Vancouver is NOT the easiest place to make a living NOR the easiest place to contribute to sustainable living. With the city in a tailspin toward bankruptcy and few if any real jobs, we have a LONG ROW TO HOE.
So that is exactly what we are doing. And we are growing lots of food, so that none of our neighbours will have to starve.
And yes, for thousands only the soup kitchens stave off starvation.
But on a lighter note, it's time to ski in the morning and sail or swim in the afternoon, a unique treat. Few places like it in the world.
