Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
I am interested in community building, incorporating permacultural ideas into neighbourhoods and I am a new farmer in Richmond.
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?

The Main Street Neighbourhood village is holding our monthly potluck dinner and presentation tonight (Tuesday, 7 June) at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House on Main Street at 24th Ave (adjacent to the library).  Dinner and a free seed and food plant seedling giveaway start at 6:00 and then an urban gardening presentation and discussion begins at 7 for about an hour.  Come and stay as long as you want, or just drop by at any time.

See the full event description here.

Anna,

Welcome to the 'hood!  We have a slew of urban ag projects going, including the Two Block Diet, seed sharing this spring, an Underground Market for food sales and bartering, and a growing bee collective.  There was talk of starting a CSA here, but I am not sure that is getting off the ground.  Last summer was a tough year for crops, and people are perhaps a bit less gung ho.

The big push this spring will be a series of visioning meetings to bring new ideas, and new idea leaders, to the fore.  The first looks to be on the 19th of February.  We have lots of people, and we just need achievable goals and real projects to lighten our footprints and live responsibly.

I hope to see you at a VV event soon.

Randy
