COVID ADVISORY
Covid hit us with a curveball in 2020-21, and here at VV we want to ensure everyone's safety. By following guidelines and recommendations we provide events and activities for everyones comfort level, wether it be online workshops or socially distant garden parties.
Thankfully, due to everyone's hard work and following social distant protocols we have been able to start up for events in 2021, including the Annual Westside Food Festival.
Some of our past activities:
We help organize the Westside Food Festival along with Westside Neighbourhood Food Network and False Creek South NFN. (2017 Festival: July 18-31, next Festival: July 2018).
In July of 2019 during the Westside Food Festival, we hosted workshops suchs as 'Pest! Who's Eating My Lettuce & What to Do' and 'The basics of seed saving'. As well we have hosted Seed Savers Club meetings during the festival.
We participate in Marpole Family Day.
We maintain a Community Seed Sharing Library, giving away seeds to gardeners. If your group or organization would like to have us bring the seed library to your event, please contact us.
We make seed donations to community and school gardens. If your garden would like a donation of seeds, please contact us.
If you're interested in being part of a Seed Savers Club, please contact us.
We can sometimes provide gardening advice.
We run food, cooking, and growing workshops at Marpole Oakridge Community Centre.
As part of our Grow Local project, we're able to offer hands-on "how to"gardening workshops at community gardens (at little or no cost to the garden). If your garden would like us to offer a workshop, please contact us.
We're happy to come speak to your group on a variety of food related topics.
In early 2018, we'll be giving away a number of mason bee houses.
We're always open to hearing about ideas for new projects and activities.
We invite your participation! f you'd like to become involved/volunteer with MONFN, please contact us at Ross.MONFN@villagevancouver.ca.

Hi,
Vancouver Parks Board approved on May 13 a new Community Garden at Cambie Park (Cambie & 54th). The project was initiated by the South Van Green Thumbs , a group of local Marpole residents who attended a gardening course offered by Farmers on 57th last year and wanted to continue to garden as a community. If you are interested in a plot, email southvangreenthumbs@gmail.com or visit http://southvangreenthumbs.blogspot.ca/p/blog-page.html. We are getting ready to build the garden and appreciate all the help we can get!
