Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...

There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)

What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?

I agree to read and abide by the Site Guidelines under the About tab on the navigation bar, remaining respectful in all communications on this web site.
You are officially in Riley Park as your City neighbourhood, but more importantly, you are in the Main Street Neighbourhood of Village Vancouver. Please visit this local Village Vancouver "Village" page and join the Main Street group.
Better yet, do so AND join us next Monday at Heritage Hall for our biggest, citywide VV potluck celebration. It is open to all, so invite friends, roommates, or whomever. It is free, the beer is cheap, and the music will be varied, fun and danceable. Bring anything you'd like to share foodwise, or just come anyway. There will be lots to share, much of it grown in your very neighbourhood!
If you could spare at most 30 minutes next Monday evening, volunteer at the event to do anything of your choice, and the beer is free. I'll send an email about that to you separately.
Lyndsay, Not that anyone is "counting," but you are technically in Mount Pleasant, which ends at Clark and 16th (SE corner of the neighbourhood). KCC is then to the southeast and Grandview Woodland to the northeast of you. There is beginning to be an active Village in Grandview, KCC is still a bit sleepy, and the Main Street 'hood, not too far away is crazy active.
HEY, come to Neighbour Savour on the 23rd! At Heritage Hall. Check it out here: http://www.villagevancouver.ca/events/neighbour-savour-iii .
