In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Kensington-Cedar Cottage
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
energy efficient buildings
urban agriculture
arts
biomimicry
organic gardening
chickens
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
interior design, building design, public art, garden projects
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
energy effiecient building
xeriscaping of public land
commercial composting
no mixed garbage disposal
more community gardens
urban agriculture
participatory public art

I hope your research is going well. I just put 8 solar panels on my 92-year-old house...a great fit, the new and the old. Total cost, just under $4,500, and largely because the older construction made it so easy. My energy bills have been cut by more than half, not a huge savings and financial payback will still take more than a decade, but it's a start.
Hi Stephanie, I am directly contacting neighbours on VV in search of a short-term or permanent home for our nine-month old bantam RI Red, who lays enormous brown eggs. She just survived a raccoon attack, the only one of our flock to survive. She's not cuddly, but is responding well to efforts to rehabilitate her from overcrowding trauma in early life. Are you interested, or do you know anyone who might be? Thanks, Lini linihutchings@gmail.com
