In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Fairview, Kitsilano
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
I'm especially interested in permaculture and sustainability, urban farming (in a condo!), urban homesteading and of course having fun while saving the world! ;) These have been long-term interests for me but I'm only recently starting to realize that it's actually possible to take part in these activities while living in the city.
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
I live in Kits, right on the Fairview border. I have zero knowledge right now but would love to lend a hand (and learn while doing so) with any projects! Still taking a look around here to learn more about the various groups and networks, but I'm hoping to help out with some hands-on projects, attend workshops, etc.

Awesome! I just checked the Winter Farmer's market reminder and it looks (not surprisingly) like it's getting thin for veggies. Just email me and let me know when you want to do it. Sunday would work for me. We can do traditional kim chee if we don't mind not being able to go 100% organic.

Hi Stephanie, I'm Lisa Slakov, one of the Kits Block Party: Celebrate Car Free Community organizers and Ross Moster told me that you're interested in learning more and potentially helping out. That's really wonderful and don't worry about not making it tomorrow to the meeting; we're just getting going for this year. It's a lot of fun wIth huge potential for increasing neighbourhood connectivity and relationships. It's easiest for me if we communicate by email; would you mind connecting with me at lslakov@telus.net ? Thanks for your nterest and we'lll probably schedule another meeting for reasonably soon; areĀ  there dates and times that work better for you? Cheers, Lisa
