June 20th - Backyard Chickens take over Main Street

We had backyard chickens as part of the Village Vancouver village at Car Free Day on Main Street on Sunday. The girls had MANY adoring fans and generated a lot of interest. I think we'll be seeing a lot more backyard coops popping up around the city this summer. Many of our visitors asked to be invited to this group so I hope you will all join me in making them feel welcome and in sharing information and resources.


June 11th - Village Vancouver Chickens and Coops featured in the Vancouver Sun

There was an article on page 6 of the Sun today featuring Julia and her chickens, Duncan and his coops and this very group so check it out! There's a video on the web site too.

June 7th - Julia clucks about the pros of keeping chickens in the Province

This short story in lieu of the final bylaw approval appeared in the Province newspaper today.

May 19th - Village Vancouver Chickens featured on CTV News

May 18th - Backyard Chickens Receive City Approval

Thanks for posting those. I missed some of those stories. I've been keeping a record of press on my website,dailyeggs.com. It looks like we have some overlap, but by my count there are at least 10 news pieces out there on Vancouver chickens since last spring.
I'll try posting the links below, but they may end up looking like a jumble of html code:
