Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Hello,
I have a rather large worm bin free to a good home (or organization). It is about 2'x18"x18" tall. Has bottom drains and screened side vents. I actually scored it here on VV maybe a year (or more?) ago. It is just too big for me!

The only caveat is I would like to harvest the castings, and I don't have enough worm-friendly food to lure the worms to one side to do so (I think there is an element of the worms not cooperating as well!)

I would also like the bin to go to a cooperative, or at least multi-person household, as these worms eat a LOT. I cannot keep up with them.

Anyone could put this to good use, or know a good place for it, please contact me. We'll have to work together on the harvesting and if someone wants to learn how to set up a new bin there will be an opportunity there as well, since I will be making a smaller bin for myself as part of this process.

If anyone wants to start their own smaller bin, there are also plenty of worms here to make several new smaller bins (and keep the big one going). Could almost do a worm workshop if there is interest.
