This may be off the wall: I signed up for a build it yourself solar kit from Greg Schmidt awhile back, and continue to receive emails from him regarding other products.
I just received an email for a very interesting energy generator, simple to construct, based on some recently uncovered blueprints purportedly attributed to Tesla.
Here goes the you tube video. Was thinking of giving it a try myself.

I have posted an invitation to register for the BC Hydro-sponsored "Power Smart Forum" at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The three-day conference takes place from Monday to Wednesday October 25-27.
It is free, but you must register by the 19th, and guarantee your attendance for at least one session. More information is here or here.

Interesting visit to Helios Solar in Vancouver. I am installing evacuated tube solar heater I purchased last year from one of their dealers. Water quality is critical to operation of tank as is cathodic protection. I am altering my system to improve these preconditions.

I have completed back porch (porte cochere) and have solar tank attached. Now working on plumbing and wiring hookup.
