The movie sounds fun, and it's part of a huge world-wide financial reform movement. Fiat money is at risk, and the real losers will be our communities...and all we "depend upon."

If I can find a version of "Oh Canada" to post on this site, I'll try to do it.

It's been posted in short segments on YouTube, so it's rather hard to watch.

I just tried the site again and went to Google, where it appears to be posted in full in one chunk. I like the basic theme, but I'll watch the whole thing before deciding.

In May 2010, Peter Goodchild penned this 20-page reality check, examining the enabling effect of the discovery and exploitation of petroleum on industrialization and massive population growth: 1.7 billion people in 1900 to 6.1 billion in 2000. (As of 2010, we find ourselves at 6.9 billion.) He then explores with scientific methodology and 41 cited sources from government, industry, and academia a world with far less oil available, with predicted production returning to 1930 levels by 2050, or roughly 2 billion barrels a year.

We currently use 30 billion barrels per year, and its distribution is far from equitable. North America consumes almost a third of this total. And if anyone thinks Canadians are greener than our southern cousins, according to the World Resources Institute, we consume 8% more energy per capita than the Americans.

Warning: This is statistically dense writing posits a gruesome outcome for many, so it may best be consumed with copious amounts of alcohol and/or read along with a few loved ones. Our world is changing.
