West End Seniors Urban Garden Club Holiday Celebration

The West End Seniors Urban Garden Club would like to invite our community friends, old, new and yet to be - to join us as we gather for holiday cheer and enjoy eggnog, cider and dessert (provided by the garden club).

This informal family friendly potluck will allow us to celebrate our gardening year and we'd love to see new gardeners there. Bring a dish to share and come with your gardening stories, or tales of your favourite comfort dishes, or traditional seasonal foods.

We'll start with a tale that takes us from New Zealand to the West End to the Wild West Coast and back to the West End - stretching over 100 years! Following this, we'll hear how a trip during Christmas to Spain ended up with tree shaking in a local community garden. Then it's your turn!

In the spirit of sharing, we'll be collecting donations for local food programs which provide access to healthy food for folks in need. If you'd like to contribute, we suggest five or ten dollars -- or whatever you'd like to give. An anonymous senior will match our donations up to $150, so anything you give until we reach this amount counts double! (Choosing to contribute is totally optional.)
