Looking for a place to garden? We have several collaborative gardens around Vancouver, and currently have room for 10-12 additional gardeners. (We're also starting a new community garden in Kits.) Folks with all levels of experience - including new gardeners - are welcome to garden with us, as are families.
We'll have the fieldhouse community seed library present - pick up some free seeds for your garden, swap or donate seeds.
Before the info session, we'll be gardening at our Cottonwood Community Garden plots from 1:30-2:30 (new gardeners welcome) and a seed packet party (http://www.villagevancouver.ca/events/seed-packet-party) from 2:30-3:30 (additional volunteers welcome).
The info session is free and pre-registration is optional, but suggested. Space permitting, drop-ins welcome. Register here (http://www.villagevancouver.ca/events/vv-2018-gardening-amp-permaculture-opportunities-info-session) or by email: gardening@villagevancouver.ca.
Our healthy, local food and gardening residency at the Strathcona Park Field House offers a variety of affordable food and community based programming at the fieldhouse, Strathcona Community Centre, and elsewhere.
This activity is part of Village Vancouver's Building Community Food Security and Resilience Project. This project is made possible by the BC Ministry of Agriculture's Grow Local program. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Agriculture.
