*Village Vancouver Main St. April Potluck and Workshop: Food Gardens & Grants

Our next Main Street monthly potluck and workshop is April 1! Join us at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House (3981 Main St.) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

We'll kick-off the evening with a potluck, always a scrumptious collection of offerings of all kinds.  The beauty of a large group is that no matter what you might bring, and it could be just a litre of juice or chips (or nothing at all), there is always plenty and willing mouths for everything.  

This month our Main Street Seed Library, newly repaired and filled to the brim, will be featured.  Also coming to the workshop will be a collection of seedlings, pots, soil, and everything else to help make your garden, balcony, or just a window explode into edible greenery.  You will take home both seedling "starts" and a collection of seeds to raise on your own into healthy and truly local food.

Seedling starts include: Buttercrunch and Winter Density Lettuce; Spinach; Pole and Broad Beans; Stupice, Early Girl and Tomatillo Tomatoes; Parsley; Gai Lan; and French Radish.  There are over 80 varieties of flower and edibles seeds to choose  from, all from the Main Street Seed Library (and mostly courtesy of West Coast Seeds).

ALSO: It is neighbourhood grants month!  Applications for neighbourhood small grants are due on April 7, one week after this event.  We'll show you how to apply, and you may download information and an application here: NeighbourhoodSmallGrants.pdf.
