Event Description

resilient |riˈzilyənt|
adjective (of a substance or object) able to recoil or spring back into shape after bending, stretching, or being compressed.
(of a person or animal) able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions : the fish are resilient to most infections.
"New Oxford American Dictionary"
So what is a resilient community? What does it look like? How do we design them? How can we be prepared in advance of or in the event of a natural disaster or a resource-scarce society?

This month:
A hybrid meeting between
Village Vancouver,
Vancouver's Evolver Spore
& Vancouver Permaculture Meetup.

Jesse Lemieux of Pacific Permaculture will open the meeting by speaking about Resiliency through Permaculture. His practical experience spans nearly 10 years and 3 continents. He has taught permaculture and applied the permaculture design system in some of the most challenging political and environmental conditions on the planet.
Ross Moster of Village Vancouver will talk about the Transition Movement, aquaint us with our local villages, and guide us through an asset mapping excercise.
Sobey of Evolver Vancouver will lead an open discussion on the theme of Resiliency.

$5.00 suggested donation; no one turned away.

Thanks to Langara College Continuing Studies for hosting the evening.
