Event Description

The theme of this year's Terra Madre Day is the Joy of Preserving. We will be taking a look at the big picture of preserving food: conserving the land it's grown on, supporting the people who grow our food, and learning about different cultures and their traditional ways of preserving. All three floors of W2 will be abuzz with food, beverages, and demos.

You will sample tasting dishes created by local chefs using fresh ingredients provided by local farmers. Meet the farmers, chefs and community groups working to build a healthier food system.

Highlights:

- Paneer-making with Meeru Dhalwala of Vijs and Rangoli

- Save on Meats sampling and sausage demo

- Wines by Lotusland Vineyards of Abbotsford, BC

- Schramm vodka from Pemberton, BC

- Music by Frazey Ford

Cost: Pay what you can. Suggested donation $15.

You may contact Joanne at joanne@slowfoodvancouver.ca for further info.
